My name is Linda Rappaport.
I write novels. Some literary, some suspense.
They’re dark, lyrical, and morally complex.
You’ll find short synopses and a biography below.
“Linda uses the beauty of language to communicate the harsh reality of an unfair world. Her compelling characters beg to be heard as they tell their heartbreaking stories.”

“Oddball scenes and settings, memorable characters (mostly sympathetic if a little edgy), and fluid, unpretentious prose.”
— Giles Selig

My career has had many incarnations. After receiving my MA in Dance Education from Columbia University Teachers College, I worked as artistic director of the House on Fire Dance Foundation.
Life as a choreographer was followed by parenthood and a career as an elementary school teacher, where I taught the Columbia University Teachers College Readers and Writers Workshop model.
I have been co-organizer of The Hudson Valley Writers Workshop for thirteen years. I teach a Memoir/Legacy Letter course through Marist College’s Center for Lifetime Studies and a fantasy writing enrichment program to 10-12-year-olds.
